After battery install success, controls don't work

After a new battery was installed successfully, the screen is stuck on: music, videos, extras, settings, etc. The wheel contacts click but does not change or move when I spin it. The IPOD works great when plugged into ITUNES on a computer or a car radio. What am I missing?

Options

Sounds like something went wrong when putting it back together. See a similar issue . Replaced the hold switch and now click wheel is not working..
