I replaced the charging port, when I plug the charger in the screen shows charging but will not power on. I have rechecked all connections and even put the old one back in. Still nothing.

I'm wondering if by chance you bumped the power button connector loose from the motherboard. If that's not plugged in securely, the motherboard may not be getting the button press. The Spanish site Nadie Me Llama Gallina has a guide for replacing the buttons, and it shows exactly which connector goes to them.

Other than that, you'll want to retrace all of your repair steps and check the connectors you did disconnect. Unplug them and check them with a magnifying glass looking for bent or broken pins. If it all looks good, clean both sides of the connectors with 90% or higher concentration isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, give it a minute to dry then plug it all back in and recheck.
