Hi, I need help to repair my PS2, it has a problem with the disk drive

Hello, I need help to fix my PS2 Slim 9001. It was recently repaired incorrectly and now every time I turn it on, the lens hits the floppy drive and makes a very annoying sound. I have not found any information about this problem. A friend recommended that I change the floppy drive motor.

This sounds like a faulty motor or a issue with the assembly of the gears/motor (put back incorrectly when re-assembled) to possibly rule out these, you can test your motor by connecting it to some power, and see if it’s still making the sound, if not then the next step will be to look into taking apart and re assembling the disk drive with a tutorial

Hi!

Can you please share a video with us? The PS2 slim actually don’t use a complete drive. The only parts in here is the worm motor, laser and spindle motor. It could be the worm motor.. but you can test this easy (just check if the laser is free and easy to move. Also check if it moves when you try a disc). Could also be the laser it’s slider.
