It can be done in your imac, you need a 2.5'' to 3.5 inch adaptor tough

get this adaptor

I suggest a good size SSD, a good one is 256GB or more, in fact the 256GB have gotten quite well priced

As per storage space after, I suggest replacing the DVD drive and getting a 500GB HDD

get this adaptor and install the HDD in this adaptor to get more storage after the SSD is installed

Does that adapter have something specific, or any one can do? The specific one you suggest cannot be found on europe amazon stores (the italian one, specifically). Can you suggest one that would be found there, or is it really not that important?
