Ipad not switching on after attempting digitizer repair.

Hey guys,

A few days ago my gf stepped on my ipad and cracked the screen.

The digitizer itself was still working but the glass was just cracked.

I ordered a new digitizer off ebay and today attempted to do the repair myself following Andrew Bookholt's tutorial here on iFixit ( iPad 2 Wi-Fi EMC 2415 Front Panel Assembly Replacement )

Unfortunately after the repair my Ipad is not switching on and im not sure if i might have somehow damaged something during the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Bijmin

After scouring how to videos it would seem I ripped the power flex cable on the top right of the ipad.

I will order a new cable and hopefully thats all that was damaged... or I might just end up with a new Ipad at the end of the week haha.

I'll leave this post up in case anyone else has any similar issues.

It boots up and responds perfectly! Volume buttons are functioning but its just the power button that isn't responding. Thank's for your help Simran! At least I can still use my Ipad now while I wait for my new cable to arrive :)

HI I have a solution for you

Just do a HARD RESET (Home+On/off) together for few seconds and viola!! its on, the reason lies in the discharging thing, if you replace your lcd without powering off your device, most likely this will happen, so try hard reset will do!

I agree with the post above. If your LCD is dim then it is caused by disassembling the device without power it off. If you can't do a hard reset it is most likely due to the power flex being severed. This is common. Also 1 tip if the LCD doesn't light up take it to a microsoldering guy and he can fix it for you. This has happened to me before and they were able to fix it at a computer repair shop. Good luck.

I have a same problem. I changed power cable, but problem is still there. I'm trying to do hard reset, but Ipad blinks Apple logo only during charging from the wall.

So I can't turn it on and connect to PC in order to make a Hard reser.

Please help!
