Three iMacs that each have had SSDs upgraded and have Prohibitory Sign

I run a small shop and I have three 27" iMacs (two 2015s one 2019) that I've replaced the HDDs with 1(or 2)TB 2.5" SSDs and installed Monterey. Since the newer iMacs don't require the thermal sensor I just used ORICO 2.5 SSD SATA to 3.5 Hard Drive Adapter and had to order three sata cables for them. These models did not come with the cable and I've ordered some from amazon and ifixit. I returned the iMacs to the customers and they have been in and out as they boot to Apple's Prohibitory symbol before continuing to boot or being stuck. I've reinstalled the OS, changed the sata cables, and changed the SSDs but the iMacs still have the same problem. I'm at my wits end and would appreciate if someone else had some insight. Thanks for taking the time and hope to find a solution as I'm at a loss!

This one will crash to folder with ? just idling so I'm going to order a replacement SSD, I'll try the Sabrent bracket Dan recommended and post results.

I just use a bare metal adapter frame running the cables directly to the drive. SABRENT 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Bracket Kit or something similar.

These ORICO adapters add a second interface between the drive and the cable connection. I would see if that’s the issue, as well as make sure the blade SSD if present is removed as that can get in the way if these where Fusion Drive setup’s that you pulled the HDD’s or if these where Blade SSD models (which is why you bought the cables) as the original setup would have the cables for the HDD.

Dan, thank you for the quick reply. I've removed the Blade SSDs at the request of the customers but I did not separate them via terminal(I didn't know you were suppose too), I just removed both the HDDs and Blade SSDs. I've replaced alot of HDDs on 21" iMacs but never had this problem before. I didn't know about bracket kits until I started looking up the symptoms and I thought that maybe taping the SSDs to the frame would cause the SSDs to possibly short but I've had the SSDs connected directly to the Sata cable without an adapter and they've had the same issue. I actually thought that I fixed one of them after getting the adapter but I came back to work in the morning with it showing the Prohibitory symbol before booting fully. If I could go back in time I would of just recommended upgrading the Blade SSDs and not even use 2.5 SDDs. The brand of SSD I've used are the SP 1TB SSDs from Amazon if anyone has had an issue with this brand before. Thank you for your time!

@clydes12955 - Is it worth trying a name brand SSD to see if these off brand SSD’s are the issue?

Let’s get a snapshot of Disk Utility so we can see the drive and volumes that have. Post a fresh answer with it.

Dan, I'm sorry for taking so long to reply. The iMac I've been spending the most time on keeps going back and forth between Folder with ? and booting up properly so I think it's been staring me in the face and its these off-brand SSDs. I'm going to order a Samsung SSD but i'll post the disk utility screenshot for you.

All three iMacs have been taken care of. It may seem obvious to some but stay away from cheap SSDs, they only lasted a couple of months. Thanks for the suggestions Dan, those Bracket Kits are great!
