Can I install a 30GB Logic board in my 60GB iPod with new SSD?

HI! my 60GB ipod has the sad Mac face. I put the iPod on my car phone holder and the magnetic holder must have fried it. So I bought a 128gb SSD and i put that in but the cable connector was loosened off the logic board and then some of the tiny soldered pins came off. SO I need a new logic board but I cant find any that is for 60GB , so would a 30GB logic board ( it comes still attached to the frame and clickwheel off of ebay) fit into my 60GB without any trouble? or am I just dreaming!

@gamergirl5631 yes, it will fit. You can also use a 80GB logic board in your model.

Woohoo!! It worked! BUT I have a problem again! my computer now recognizes the ipod as a disk drive ( F) and i formatted it on Windows 10 but iTunes just will not recognize it so I can do a restore through iTunes...so right now its just a hard drive....I dont know what to do... I have tried it in disk mode, I have done a reset on the iPod itself ( holding down center button and previous button)... help!

@gamergirl5631 I guess this could be a version issue. Start off with something like this:

Turn off computer.

Plug your iPod into a usb.

Reset your iPod. (It should not lose anything. Mine didn't... but no promises. To reset it do the following: Move the button on top of your iPod to the HOLD position. Then move it back the other way to "on".

Press and hold the center button AND the top menu button at the SAME TIME for 6 seconds. (It will restart the ipod)

Start your computer with the iPod still connected. It should auto install the drive behind the scenes. While doing this the iPod screen should show "do not unplug".

Open iTunes. It should now be there!

IMPORTANT: Remember to eject your iPod from iTunes and ALSO right click on the USB icon in your system tray to eject the iPod there under 'safety remove hardware." Do this EVERY TIME from now on.

FYI: When I tried to sync my iPod after doing the above, it would not do anything. I had to do the "reset iPod" button on the iTunes page. This resets and

from here

I have the feeling this is going to be a lot of trial and error :-)

THANK YOU oh tremendously wise turkey!!! I progressed finally but got a " error 1439" THEN! I hunted for that on here and then found a helpful comment from you suggesting plugging the USB BEHIND the computer!! AND THAT WORKED!!! I dont know what the difference is but I was using the USB in front of my CPU that was so convenient....why cant they put the useful USBs on the front of the desktops!! Now my iPod is restored and iTunes is syncing the music back into the iPod!! From a 60GB iPod to a 128GB ...it works SO GREAT!! Im so excited to have been able to do this with your amazing help! And thank goodness for IFIXIT instructions!!
