Screen blank in Windows (not found in device manager), works for Linux

The laptop’s screen stopped displaying for Windows but works for Linux (dual boot). When connected via HDMI, the Windows OS recognizes the external screen only.

This doesn’t seem to be a device driver issue caused by Windows Update, since the issue resolved for 2 months before resuming.

The laptop’s ability to detect a closed lid could be the culprit but the root cause is still unknown.

The laptop’s power button sometimes doesn’t function properly when attempting to power on or off. Without a root cause analysis, it is difficult to determine if this is related or unrelated to the screen’s issue.

The power button may not be able to drain the board power, which would be a blocker for disassembly. If providing the laptop to a repair tech is advisable, then that is what will happen.

Hello, can you display anything on the main screen if you boot into Windows Safe Mode?

In the past:

Safe Mode didn’t succeed. Reinstall of the OS was successful but not necessarily a solution for making the screen come back.

At present:

Having removed the internal battery connection to the motherboard, and plugging in A/C power for the laptop, it successfully booted with the screen functioning again. The power button also worked as well, whereas it wasn’t working immediately prior. This reminded me of the past, when the button would succeed whenever the battery would drain completely (e.g., waiting a week without A/C power).

The problem may have to do with the battery settings. 60% wasn’t working for the sake of always plugged in. Could that have an impact on the situation?
