Looking for Display Data Cable

Does anybody know where I can buy MacBook Pro 13 Unibody parts?

I had a little accident and poured redbull on my MacBook..after cleaning it the MacBook starts, everything works except the screen, its black. I checked on the Display Data Cable and I can see its broken. Maybe it was a friend when he tried to fix it. The connector of the cable is damaged, the one that is attached to the logic-board.

Where can I buy this product? Im a total Newbie to Mac, please help.

Even if the LVDS cable is damaged you should get a gray screen cause the backlight (screen lightning circuitry) should work. Before buying parts I would connect the MBP to an external monitor then check if the video is normal on the external.

I concur -- in fact suggested it because of the redbull spill. Ralph

Apple decided that the internals of the Unibody displays are non-serviceable, so the display cables are a bit hard to come by. Your best best is to check eBay for the part or for a display with shattered glass for cheap from which to scavenge the cable.

Hi

Is it possible to get the cable of any Mac Laptop Screen or do I have to get it of a MacBook Pro 13 Unibody ?? thanks for help.

Unfortunately, the cables are pretty exclusive between machines. You would need one specifically from a MBP 13" Unibody. Good luck!

If the cable itself was the problem you would be in better shape. If I understand you correctly the connector on the logic board is broken. That being the case you probably need a new logic board. You can try using a external monitor and if that works you could still use the MacBook as a desktop computer.

However if the cable itself is bad that can be replaced for a lot less money. Ralph

I have searched for a source for the cable without luck. Please confirm the cable and not the board is what you need and I'll keep looking. Ralph
