Won't turn on after HD upgrade

So I went to install an upgraded hard drive in my MBP yesterday. I've taken the case off before so I figured no big deal.

Well now my computer will not turn on at all. I put the old one back in and still won't work. It makes a faint clicking sound from under the keyboard. The computer worked perfectly fine before I did any of this. I tried resetting the SMC, nothing happened.

Help.

The most likely thing is that the keyboard insert needs reseating. Do you get any keyboard lights?

I would say the same. Probably forgot to connect your keyboard again. I did the same thing once..

I would try pulling the battery, see if that has an effect, and then reseat the RAM, and see if that has an effect. If that doesn't work, I'd let it sit overnight with AC disconnected and battery removed. Sometimes laptops will retain a "bad setting", and letting them fully discharge with no power source resets them. Couldn't hurt to do the standard resets again as well without the battery.

If you're hearing a repetitive clicking, that's probably your hard drive, and it sounds like it's failing. That click is the hard drive trying to spin correctly and failing.

Does the computer do ANYTHING when it powers on?
