How do I fix a subwoofer that has no sound?

The left/right speakers work, so it has power and is connected properly; no sound (not even a buzz) from the subwoofer. Not sure if it is a macOS configuration issue, or if I need to get in and see what's what. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

I'm guessing that the a part of the circuit board broke, however it might be just the subwoofer contact, so take it out and check the contact.
