If it happens when you move the screen it will be a cable... if not the display.

Only you can know if you are capable of reading and following directions, and have the motor skill needed to manipulate tools... Not every job has to be a DIY project - you can hire professionals. Only you can determine if it's cost effective to repair the machine. You might be better off to part out this machine, take that money, and the money you'd spend on a repair and buy a newer machine.

Hi all,

I think that the problem of the green lines is caused by this problem: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377?viewl...

But the outcome Apple software test by a apple repair man said that everything was fine with the Nvideau processor. So I did not qualify for the recall.

I cleared the macbook inside of dust, especially the fans were full of dust. And put some new thermal paste on all the processors.

At this time i only use the macbook for web surfing and email. He is retired and don'tt need to perform any heavy rendering work. And now he is working almost problem less with occasionally a green screen for some minutes.
