Slow downs after partition

I just partitioned my drive by like 10 GB and then i restarted to boot into it but then it wasn't there and now my computer keeps on indexing my spotlight and about mac in the storage section says zero everything and instead other takes the whole bar. Iam running mac os x lion 13 inch macbook pro early winter model and 320 GB Hitachi HD. Do i need to replace the Hard drive?

Options

You kind of erased the drive when you partitioned it, the directory is gone. I don't think it can be recovered except by a recovery company. Go back to disk utilities and READ what it says when you try to partition.

Do I go on recovery hd? Sorry about asking a lot of questions but can I reinstall lion without deleting my files?
