I wanted to ask that will my standard ps5 update its system software if I remove the disc drive and reassemble back together because I think the reason my ps5 is not updating to the latest version is because my disc drive is faulty

Hi Elden!

Depends on the defect of the drive. What is broken? If it just can't read discs no more, then it still should update.

When the drive is disconnected (due ribbon cable which is broken, or no power) it won't update no more.

Is there any error message you get when you try to update the PS5?
