E74 error then RROD.

So i turn on an undiagnosed xbox 360 elite and it gives me the dashboard except looks like the av connect is all funny. So i figured okay maybe a reflow might help it. Well later on i turn it on again and it gives me E74 error, well i took it apart and well why not, i put the RROD fix on it. Reflowed before of course and i get RROD now.

dylan, just to clarify a few things. How did you reflow your board? Did your double check your work with the RROD fix kit? Checked the machine screws for proper tightness? Did you make sure you got good thermal paste? Does your heatsink make good contact?

I followed the reflow direction on this sites guide. RROD of fix was just fine. I used the heatsink compound that comes in those pouches with the RROD fix kit. My heatsinks should have amazing contact. There tight as possible. I got my thermal pads, and installed heatsinks.

Could still be the AV cable or I think it's the ANA chip (E74 error), if you press down on that chip at start up (when the cover is off) then you may get the 360 to work-if this works then you need to reflow that chip. I tried other suggestions about pennies etc but the error recurred until I reflowed it..take a look here it has some excellent advice on all things 360
