hi i have the same computer i install a new hard drive 750gb at 7600 rpm but is not working properly.

did you install the solid state disc and the 6 gb of ram? how is it working?

what os are you using?

masterjedi80 - You should create your own question. Most likely you'll need to set a jumper to get your drive to work here as your system has a SATA-I or II (1.5Gb/s or 3Gb/s) port and your HD is likely SATA-III (6Gb/s). This is a common issue when using faster HD's in older systems.

Your system will not accept or work with DDR3, it works with DDR2. The specifications are totally different. The notch placement on the chip and RAM slot are different. So the DDR3 chip will not properly fit into a DDR2 slot. The chip handling memory management on your logic board wasn't programmed with how to deal with it. So even changing slots on the board will not work. Click here and click here for verification of that.

Officially Apple says this machine supports up to 4GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM. However many people have been able to install 6GB of that RAM. Click here for verification of that.

Yes you can upgrade to a SSD hard drive. You will need to set the jumper on it to limit the transfer rate to 1.5GBs. (aka SATA 1). That will not affect the internal data manipulation on the drive and you will realize the benefit of the SSD performance.

thanks!! I can get some help! how do I fix the jamper can you have a guide?

Do a web search for jumpers and the name of your SSD. Usually you have to jump pins one and two to slow it to 1,5 GB.

Ok Thanks but The jumpers set is essential To hd ssd work correctly? Regards
