Opened iPhone whilst on as to reconnect touchscreen now dead

Hi replaced my ihpone dock connector and when turned it on the touchscreen wasn't working so was unable to switch off tried to carefully open it to tweak the ribbon cable and accidently disconnected all the screen connections now is completely dead tried hard reset etc, but not working. Please if anyone has any ideas on what the issue could be and a way to get the iphone going would appreciate it????

Hi Gareth,

It seems to me that the rectangular connector of the digitizer (it is the black ribbon cable that is labeled with a white "J3" and is in charge of the touchscreen) was not clipped on correctly in the first place.

[The iPhone 3G can be switched off even without a working touchscreen by pushing the power button on the top right.]

I would just reconnect connectors #1 to #3 in reversed order. Then, when closed, connect your iPhone to your power supply through the synch cable and see what happens.

I hope I understood your problem...

Steffen
