What is the maximum HDD that I can install in my MBP?

Hi,

I replaced my original 320GB HDD with a 500GB 7200RPM from iFixIt 2 years ago because I was in need of more space on my laptop. Unfortunately, my hard drive stopped functioning this morning leaving me in a bit of mid-semester mess.

I'm trying to find an appropriate replacement drive and I now see that 720GB 7200RPM drives are being offered as viable upgrade options for the early-2008 pre-unibody MBP (A1260). Has anybody installed this drive on their MBP, and if so, has it worked? I am running Snow Leopard, so I don't envision encountering some of the issues experienced by Lion users, but regardless, I would like to have a smooth transfer.

It seems that the 640GB might be the max, but I'm assuming if iFixit is selling it for the A1260 model, then I should be fine with 720GB. Can anybody give me any insight into the largest HDD I can put in my MBP?

Thanks!

As seen in the hard drive parts list on this machine, it will take a 1 TB drive: http://www.ifixit.com/Mac-Parts/MacBook-...
