Can anyone help me fix my iPod touch with water damage.

Its Been broken for almost a year now. i believe i disconnected the screen before i even spilled anything in it. someone stepped on it and the display screen lifted. i think when i lifted it more to see what was going on inside it i disconnected the screen, i saw it happen. except i wasn't experienced enough to fix it , so i left it alone in fear i might've made it worst. Please help
