Battery will not charge, but works on AC

My MacBook has had water damage. but i works with ac. The battery will not charge. It will either say it is change for like 5 minutes and stop. Or it will show that there is no battery in.

The MacBook logic board charging area (left side of the logic board) is very sensitive to liquid spill. We see many machines that still works after a liquid spill but battery charging function is often altered. If you have no success with a known working battery after replacing the battery charging board then the logic board need to be replaced or repaired. A repair will cost you at least $200 if the logic board can be repaired

It could very well be the Magsafe board that is not charging:

or as in my case I changed the battery cable which contains some electronic that could be damaged by liquid. This cable tells the logic board if the battery needs charge, is present at all etc. Here it is:

MacBook Battery Connector/Sleep Sensor (non-Energy Star)

Just remember to get the correct version for your MB.
