Why MacBook backlight doesn't work?

How can i understand why my macbook backlight doesn't work? I can see something on the screen and when i turned it on or when i wake it up from the stop status, the dsplay works for a few seconds... However i can't find what's the reason... i have to fix the inverter, or the inverter cable, or the lcd...??? Sorry for my bad english... :)

If you can still see the desktop, your problem is most likely the inverter or inverter cable. Hook it up to an external monitor to verify the GPU. Move the screen up and down to test the inverter cable. Here's the fast guide on it: MacBook Core 2 Duo LCD & Inverter A1181 (fast method) Replacement

Here's the longer guide if you need to replace the cables: MacBook Core Duo Inverter Replacement

I have yet connected an external monitor, so i know that the GPU works correctly... If i move the screen up and down doesn't change anything... so i can be sure that the problem is the inverter??

If you can still see the desktop, your problem is most likely the inverter or inverter cable. If it's black then it's most likely the LCD.
