Replace Glass on LCD
Can you just replace the glass cover on a 4th generation IPod or do you always have to buy the full package that has the glass layer and the digitizer?

Buy the glass and digitizer ... and don't forget that you will need a #0 screwdriver, a pry tool (ifixit has a great metal spuger), and adhesive -- buy a few packs of adhesive. I fix these all the time and nothing like messing up your last adhesive...and then having to use an exacter to custom cut every piece vs waiting days for more to come in.
Also, #1, when you lift up that logic board put a plastic pry tool between the power cable and the logic board. If not, you will surely rip it and then have to get into soldering.
The 2 most common mistakes, and used logic boards listed on e-bay, are ripped power cables or lifted solder pads (bad).
