Replaced Dock Connector, Not Charging or Sync

Replaced dock connector today due to speaker/microphone issue. Purchased one through ifixit.com. Phone will not charge but when connected to the computer is recognized. Any tips? Thank you!

Thanks for your response. I have tried charging through PC, wall charger, and docking charge with no luck. I verified that my PC recognizes that something was plugged in but "does not recognize the device connected". When I temporarily replaced the dock connector with the old one, I was able to charge again. Appears that I received a defected dock connector.

excellent trouble shooting. Go get your vendor to replace the dock connector with a working one...;-)

Check your battery contacts with the cable plugged in. See what voltage you get at the dock connector and the contacts. Possible that your charging fuses is not working, bad battery or bad power management IC. If you voltage is greater than 3.7Volt it should charge. Start off with a new battery and take it from there.
