Screen Failure - half the screen striped.

My ipad (1st gen 3g) all of a sudden woke up with a screen failure the other day. Can this be fixed by replacing the front panel?

if you open an app does the same screen appear? have you tried a hard reset or restore from backup?

Yes the stripe error still stays when swiping between home screens and launching apps, but the stripe errors update to reflect the new screen. I have tried a hard reset and a full restore but it did not help.

I think the first thing anyone will tell you is the standard" did you reset?

If you did , it certainly looks more like a software issue than a screen failure in my opinion. I could definitely be wrong. I'll be anxious to see some other answers to your question. I recently had to have a digitizer replaced along with a wifi antenna after my digitizer started having dead spots in it.

I attempted it, but still had dead spots so I sent it Rapid repair in Kalamazoo Michigan and in two hours I was back in business. Those guys are amazingly fast..
