Can this kit cause a Kernel Panic?

I recently bought this kit, and I get a kernel panic almost every time my Mac Mini wakes from sleep. When I brought it into the apple store, the hard drive attached to the hard drive kit cable was showing errors (the SSD). Since I did the install myself, they wouldn't do anything under warranty for me.

I took my computer home and swapped the HD Locations. SDD to stock cable, Optical HD to iFixit Cable. I reinstalled MAC OSX on the SSD and that helped for a while. I'm now getting Kernel Panics again. The SSD is brand new so I would expect that it is not failing... What else can I do?
