Screen brightness using f2 key

My screen is very dim. Even using the F2 key doesn't help. I can't even see what is on the screen enough to make system changes, but I can see something there. It is so dim. The screen was replaced because it was broken. It is new.

The f1 & f2 controls brightness on some machines. Try the F10 key for up, the F9 key for down.

Depending which MacBook he has the F2 key might change his brightness. On my MacBook the F1 and F2 keys control screen brightness.

You're correct maj. I looked at another MacBook keyboard and it was the f1 & f2. Good catch.

If it's dim enough that you can't make system changes, and if Mayer's tip doesn't work, then it sounds like there may be a problem with the backlight. I would take it back to whoever you had change the screen. If you did it yourself, let us know, and we can proceed with next steps.
