Machead is correct. You may have a PCIe slot, according to which machine you have and I've used this card on both the PowerMac G5 and Mac Pros with success. I also prefer the 800 Firewire card (1394b), the 1394a is a 400: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/allegr...
