Connector of fan on Logic Board broke off - what now?

Hello,

I was busy with replacing my hard drive with an SSD. Did all the steps successfully, except for reconnecting the fan to the logic board. I tried to reconnect it, but didn't manage to do it. I asked my father to give it a try, but he came back with the broken off connector in his hand.

I have an A1347, but I think it's pretty generic. Does anyone know if I can resolder it back, or do I have to declare my Mac Mini as a door stop now?

Thanks,

Jeffrey

Soldering logic boards is not for DIY requires special tools, solder. Electronics shop MAY be able to help - if not.... new logic board if it's worth the expense.

That depends on your soldering skills. I solder things like that and smaller everyday. You can also solder the wires directly to the board - not recommended. Some pictures of what you have there of both the board and connector would be helpful in telling you if the 2 can be mated again, if you need new or if this is a job for a professional. Replacement of the logic board shouldn't be considered unless the repair exceeds the cost of replacement.
