Microsoft cooling pad messing with the Superdrive: is that possible?

I've just fixed together my Macbook. The Superdrive was acting up, and the case was bulging. So I redid every connection, fixed every nook and cranny and it seems to go just fine. At least without cooling pads.

Then I put my Core due on a Cooling Pad, this one, to be precise.

When I put it with the two gummy pads, the ones matte colored in the picture, on the longest parts of the bottom case (running under the trackpad and the display) the Superdrive works just fine.

When I put it sideways, with the gummy pads under the superdrive and under the bezel with the Firewire, USB and audio ports, the Superdrive acts up like when it was misaligned, and spits every CD or DVD I give it.

With a completely flat cooling pad, it works fine. On the desk, it works fine. Sideways on the Cooling Pad microsoft, even on my knees, it spits the DVD out. Fitted with the gummy parts under the display and the pad, it works, even on uneven surfaces.

Sound like lower case deforms when it has uneven support. Solution=don't use it like that.

Another solution: I'll find a better cooling pad.

Thank you.
