Phone will not turn on with battery, OK with cord.

I replaced the battery in my 3GS and the process was simple. My phone operates perfectly when plugged in. When the power cord is removed it shuts off. The battery charged OK as I watched the green indicator slowly progress. Any thoughts on what I missed?

John, since your phone works without any issue while connected to an auxiliary power source, recheck your battery connections. It does look like you might have a bad battery. This is not uncommon. Speak with the vendor where you got it from and replace it once more. A battery may appear to charge, but not actually holding a charge.
