You said they were compatible?!

You listed the GWA-4080N as compatible For the MacBook pro 15"? So I bought it an removed the face plate as you don't use a face plate Kenna MacBook but under the faceplate is black plastic that still covers the access door so you would not be able to insert a cd or DVD. What gives, who is giving this advice????!!!!!!!!

Thus, the thing is still odd. As I myself found everywhere else, whatever is flagged as compatible with a Macbook Pro, should work on a Macbook A1181.

If another store has sold you a slot-in drive that obviously isn't a slot-in, you've got all the right to complain with the seller himself.

So , here is the deal and I hope Ifixit changes the compatibility listings for the MacBook and MacBook pro's optical drive, the correct comparable drive is a; GWA-8040M not a GWA-8040N, the "M" is an open-slot unit.
