Can I test the LCD without putting device together?

Hi,

I am suspicious that I got some bad LCDs. I have a device that has been taken apart (mid plate is on, but no screen). If I plug the just LCD connector in (no digitizer) and power on the device should I expect to see anything other then a white sceen?

Usually it should work but it could just need to have a hard reset done to it, a better way to test it is to take the plate off and just do the digitizer and lcd at the same time.
