iPod Nano went through washing machine, help?

My iPod nano went through the washing machine. The next day, it wouldn't turn on but my computer would still recognize it. Now my computer no longer recognizes that it's attached, and it won't turn on. How can I fix it? Is it even worth it?

Christina, the Nano is a bit of a PITA to work on. What you need to do, to get it working again, is to disassemble it using this guide. Clean it according to this guide. Replace the battery after cleaning it. The battery is a bit hard to find and a bit pricey but available here. Rice is a great first aid to pull some of the water out, but it will NOT prevent corrosion, nor will it displace water that accumulates under IC's or even within a case. As for if it is even worth it, depends on how handy you are and if there is any sentimental value attached to it. Hope this helps, good luck.
