How can you tell how many GB's are on a 3G Motherboard
Just curious how to tell on a 3G logic board if it has 8GB or 16GB when it's not recognized by the computer/tiny umbrella and won't power on.
Is this a good question?

Check out step 25 of our teardown. The picture there is of the memory. If you can locate that chip and enter the numbers on the IC into a search you should be able to identify the IC and find out its memory.

matthew, did you check the link that Phillip Takahashi had in his answer? It says "evealed after removing a soldered-down cover. This chip was covered by a plastic shield as well, which we've partially removed to see the markings beneath" that means you will have to desolder. Hope this helps, good luck.
