hp touchpad cellular radio

Some touchpads were built with internal cellular radios that were never activated. I believe mine is one. webos doesn't give much description on the internal hardware but when I boot up into android I can use apps such as elixir or other networking apps that recognize the radio and even show a signal. I am curious about this and would like to know if its possible to either use a sim card or connect service through a cdma carrier.
