How to replace textile dust protector on optical drive opening?

I have a MacBook with a mangled dust protector textile bit on the optical drive opening (see pic).

I also have a spare bottom case, which I could take it off of, if only I could figure it out.

It's between the bottom case plastic and the metal bracket on the inside of the optical drive opening.

The metal bracket won't budge even with all screws removed. I'm missing something, any ideas?

Thanks torontomac!

That was it.

Advice to people attempting the same: there's a lot of glue so use the force. ;) Also the dust protector itself is easily damaged, so be careful. Pry from under the metal bracket, not where the dust protector is.
