Changing the Internal battery

i am reading on replacement battery for the iphone 3gs and found out that there are error issues on certain battery types that will not work with itunes/iphone which was upgraded.

as i had recently upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios5.01.

is it possible for me to replace the battery? if so, what are the battery types/part numbers should i be looking for?

lastly, do you have other cheaper alternatives for shipping to singapore?

Options

this isn't a clear cut answer...basically one person can buy a battery from a supplier that will have a manufacturing APN on it that has worked in an iphone similar to yours. You buy the same APN but it doesn't work in your iphone... it's a little hit and miss. Everyone recommends an APN 616-0435 but as I've said..not all batteries are the same. Go for that first and if it works good, if not you'll need to buy another 3gs battery (not necessarily 0435)

+ With all the China knock offs, batteries are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Hi polly, been down just about all year with sciatic nerve problems. I have not been able to sit or stand very long most of the time. I thought I was almost over the bout, last week of January, then had a mishap on a sheet of ice and it came back with a vengeance. I am starting to be able to sit again for about 10 -15 minutes at a time. Should be back to normal in a week or so. Hope all is well in your world.
