just changed power,volume and mute button and now wont work?

done everything by the book as best as possible. everything else works but the volume, power and mute. any ideas?

Very likely you have a bad solder connection or the new cable is defective. Cables are produced in mass quantities in China, so, it's not unusual to get in dead parts from time to time.
