Need help fixing and replacing kinect sensor.

My kinect is looking straight down and when it turns on it will flash some green but then goes to red. When I try and tune the kinect I get an error code C00000C2. Xbox support had me try unplugging it and doing the couple of things they have listed on their site which did not work. Of course my sensor is just over a year old, so the warranty is no good. Not sure what the issue is, but believe it to be the IR sensor. I found supposedly a replacement sensor online for like $7. I got it ordered and have looked through the break down guide of the kinect. I guess my real question is, has anyone successfully replaced a sensor in the kinect and got it working again or have any ideas as to what is causing the trouble with the kinect?

Darius, not sure what code you are talking about. I have restarted the xbox and kinect many times. Please explain the code and how gamestop.com will help.
