We need more info on the phone. What happened to it before they disappeared? Usually the only way messages disappear is you physically deleting them yourself.
Which messages? Text, messenger, email?

one step you can take is to look in the messages setting of your iPhone and check when your messages are auto-deleted by. you may have accidentally enabled this option.
