Will the HP Touchpad still turn in without the battery

Recently my HP Touchpad’s Battery swole up so I had to remove it but I didn’t get a replacement battery, I was wondering if the HP Touchpad will still turn on when connected to the original power adapter and cable.

@strongbow could this end up damaging it, because that was my primary worry.

@techvid I wouldn't of thought so. I connect mobile and tablet boards after fitting new charge ports to make sure the soldering is done correctly.
