Power button replacement not working

Hi,

I did already fixed some Iphones, but this time I have no clue whats wrong. I replaced the powerbutton from an 3GS, the silverbutton was gone...(but still working)...

So I replaced the button like explained in the guide, but the new button does not move up or down, it is just stuck. The guide says the metal handle has to face down, I did all that. I can use the screws again to fix it and all, still the button itself is not moving/working? Anyone got an idea? I guess I simply overlooked something.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

They can be quire fiddly to install, I have done many myself. Also bear in mind that the rear case might be too tight around the power button. I have had a few where I have had to use a small file and make the power button hole a little bigger for the button to move in and out.

Also sometimes if the screws are done up too tight it can stop the button from operating correctly.

+..most times it's been overtight screws, they shouldn't be biting into the plastic but merely holding in place.
