How do I get data from HD?

I have a dead MPB and would get my data from the hard disk. So i opened up my MBP (with the help of iFixit) so i can remove the HD.

How do i get data of my HD? I do have an external drive (Lacie Little disk, in a black plastic hardcover, difficult to remove)

I would like to connect the HD from MBP to the La Cie, is that possible? Does anyone have a better idea? Can not start up my MBP, even not in firewire mode....

(seems Logic board is not working, how can i be sure?)

You should be able to install the drive you removed in your external drive and transfer your data to another computer. Ralph

You can check out your computer by trying to boot to a system disk. What was the computer doing before you removed the hard drive? Ralph
