The wheel buttons don't work, but it lets me change the volume.

I've been stuck at the same song because the buttons won't work. My wheel to my ipod classic lets me change the volume on the song, but the buttons on the wheel and the center button don't work. I can't even play the song that it's on. I've tried to reset my ipod multiple times, but nothing seems to work. It doesn't even turn off. I have to wait for it to turn off by itself because the buttons don't work. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I don't know what generation my ipod classic is, I just know it's an 80gb classic. Thought it might be helpful to know that.

Hunter, there are two possibilities. One is that you need a new click wheel and the other possibility is that the micro switches on your logic board are not functioning. You can use a multimeter on the switches and see if they have continuity when pushed. I would start with checking the switches, than replace the click wheel. Worst case scenario would be a new logic board. Check the number on the back of your case, you could identify your iPod with those. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
