maybe the problem isn't the home button but the dock connector??? just an idea. I don't believe there are 2 different buttons, there are 2 different Iphone 4/4s, also iphone 4verizon (only in USA I think) and iphone 4 GSM (rest of the world and USA)

The dock connector worked with a different logicboard, but i will try to change it. if that dosent work eny other ideas?

did you buy just the flex without the physical button? does it still spring?

by

Only the flex button the physical button i alreadu had, yes it springs.

Can it be the Logicboard?

by

try cleaning the logicboard connection ie from dock onto board, let it dry and reassemble. I'd also thoroughly clean the area the home button sits into and check how the metal plate/home button are lining up on that midframe..maybe it's bent a little so the "springy" bit isn't making contact? maybe it fell off? who knows?

ok..idea 1) the button itself is not sitting in the enclosure properly so isn't contacting the metal plate it sits on to complete the circuit. 2) the midframe assembly is damaged in some way so that when you press the button no contact is made.3) you have damaged several flex or if you bought all from the same shop he has a dud batch...

You say the dock connector works with another board so we can rule that out which only leaves 1-3 or the actual dock connection onto the logic board. If it turns out that we can't work it out, I'd be tempted to install an app from cydia which gives you a home button on screen. This would mean jailbreaking the phone..
