My touch screen is not working properly

i just replaced my lcd screen and digitizer on my iphone 3gs everything working great except the touch screen, i cant even get it to slide far enough over to unlock it, the parts i bought are brand new, but i did notice the connector was not staying snapped down so i fixed that but still not much better any advice would be appreciated.

return it as a dud. also check you ordered the right part for the right generation phone.
