Problem with my iPod's battery, I think is dead!

Hi all, i have a problem with my IPOD, i already search this website and i think the problem is the battery.

When i connect my ipod to his dock, works perfectly well.. but when i try to connect it to my computer (via usb) i always receive the same message

Very low battery, please wait... but never changes!

I know that the voltage is different between the dock and the usb connection, and i believe that the problem is in the battery...

Thoughts..??

Kind regards

Vrael, I think you did all the diagnosing correct and a new battery should fix your problem. It is a straight forward task, but be careful of the clip that holds that battery cable. You do want to use a paperclip bent into a L-shape and pull gently straight up. The connector ha a tendency of breaking of the logic board. You probalby already found these, butjust in case, here are the guides iPod 5th Generation (Video) and you can get the battery at places like this http://www.ifixit.com/iPod-Parts/iPod-Vi... Hope this helps, good luck.
