How to connect iPhone to external non-powered speakers

I have a iPhone 4S and am trying to connect a pair of external speakers that came with a older iMac Power Mac. The pin connector for the speakers to the iMac is smaller than the headphone jack on the iPhone. Is there an adapter I can buy and what size would it be?

There are 4 sizes of audio jack - 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 6.35 mm and 6.5 mm Your iPhone has a 3.5 mm TRRS connector and the Apple Speaker sound output port should be a 2.5 mm stereo mini jack. You'd be looking at an adapter from 2.5 male to 3.5 mm female . Something like this might just do the trick. Hope this helps, good luck
