My phone can receive text messages, but I cannot send text message

My phone cannot send messages out, but I am able to receive text messages from friends and family.

Hey Shannon, I edited your questions a little bit to make it a bit easier to understand. We will also need some additional information. What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Also, we will need to know which carrier are you using for your phone?

@shannonkelsey - Sounds like a possible carrier issue.

Sounds like a carrier issue, what type of carrier do you use? If your carrier is a TracFone or a company linked to TracFone [Straight Talk, for example] you may have to contact them using another phone, I used to have this issue on my WalMart TracFone before. If you mentioned your carrier, i could help you out more.
