Just verifying that you have set the volume up to maximum and it is still too soft, is this correct?
Is the phone in a protective case at all?
If so check that the case is not covering the speaker (see item #14) thereby muffling the sound.
Can't find a video showing the speaker replacement procedure or perhaps how to access the mesh filter in case it needs to be cleaned but here's a link to a supplier of the part just to give an idea of the cost.
